Mateo Márquez is a director and writer from New York City. His body of work includes narrative and music video content that have garnered attention in the U.S and abroad. He holds a BA from the City University of New York's Hunter College, where he was selected for the BAFTA Scholarship in 2015. Mateo was also the recipient of the 2019 School of Visual Arts’ Alumni Scholarship Award which he received while earning his Masters Degree in Directing. Mateo is most interested in telling stories which challenge rich existing perceptions of the disenfranchised.

His most notable work to date is The Invaders (2017), which has played at 28 festivals worldwide including BFI London Film Festival, Fantasia, Celluloid Screams, Indie Memphis, and Brooklyn Horror. Mateo is in development of his first feature film titled “The Lost One” while continuing to advance his work in commercial directing.
